Storytelling while asleep

About a billion years ago in college, I used experience every dream trope (false awakening, lucid dreaming, and just extremely vivid, movie-like dreams), along with sleep paralysis (which is kind of like dreaming, but you’re awake). Now I mostly have somewhat vivid dreams if I’m lucky, and the most I can lucid dream is detect that I’m in a dream or wake up on command, but can’t control it or stay asleep.

Dream Terminology

False awakening— A dream where you wake up…but you’re not actually awake. You’re still dreaming and you dreamed you woke up. Bonus if you’re stuck in a false awakening loop. 😑

Lucid dreaming— The ability to control your dreams and be aware that you’re dreaming. When I had this, I basically stopped having nightmares because I could control the outcome.

Sleep paralysis— Not really dream-related, but you feel like you’re dreaming. Sometimes you might wake up and realize you can’t move or open your eyes. And YMMV on this, but a lot of people sense an evil or malevolent entity nearby. IIRC, this really isn’t paranormal, but more psychological.

  • Dream: Pug Thievery

Everyone from math (students+teacher) were all in my room, because we had nothing better to do.

A couple hours later, everyone went home. The house was warped around a lot (rooms changed and rearranged). I went over to the doorway, and met one of our…very unique pets: something that was a cross-between a dog and a refrigerator. XD It didn’t have any food in it, because whatever was put in there was eaten by the dog-fridge. We couldn’t really give it anything to eat, since it was also a household appliance, and we didn’t know what would happen if we were to give a refrigerator something to eat. 😛

  • Dream: Giantaper and the Great Glass Elevator

Forgot how this one begins. Grandma owned L’s school, which I think it was passed down through her family or something. Sometimes used it as kinda like a hotel/motel (used the classrooms as the people’s rooms).

There was some kind of a carnival/festival/celebration going on there. A majority of the students+their families were there, along with our family (L, Worm88, me, Mom, Dad) to help run things, along AuAm (dad’s aunt). The school was about four times larger the actual size in real life. After walking around and watching people, I realized I was only in my pajamas. :O I tried to figure out how to get back home so I could change into my regular clothes, but got lost or sidetracked. (Sidetracked by some really weird events, like…someone’s horse galloping into the gym–which was big enough to house the entire school, or non-killing assassins showing up.)

  • Dream: $10 A Gallon for the Elevator

We (my family + Jeidai’s family) went to a tall building that was a cross between a 13 story mall and a hotel (hotel occupying two extra floors at the top). My dad drove us (me + siblings + cousins) over there. He dropped us off at the side door. The boys ran off somewhere. Jeidai and SM00 decided to go to the food court.

We all got on the elevator, which was fully equipped with a pale-pink tiled restroom–toilet, sink and mirror. The only thing it was missing was walls and a door for privacy. Three other guys, college-aged, got on the elevator with us. In about two seconds, I was unofficially put in charge of pressing all the elevator buttons. Everyone named the level of their destination, but I got confused on what to do until one of the guys said, “Just press 1.” (?) Did that.

We started moving up, until we reached the food court. Jeidai and SM00 got off. I thought about joining them, but then I decided to investigate our rooms first. That quickly changed when one of the guys needed to use the built-in restroom. One of his friends saw that and said, “Oh okay, dude…we’ll leave you alone…” We all quickly got off the elevator, and I resorted to using the stairs, which was difficult…

  • Dream: Creepy Girl

This was the first “scary dream” I can remember. (I found out I don’t use the term “nightmare” that much, I noticed.)

Note: I had this dream written out as a novel-type entry, like an actual story. And since I liked how it was written, I kept it in that format. ^_^ So, just to let you know.
