It took me a reeeeally long time to figure out what music I like, and I’ve decided I’m really into movie soundtrack-like music (called trailer music or epic music). Most of these aren’t made by normal music artists. They’re from music production companies (folks who make stock music for movie trailers or commercials). A lot of what’s listed here are either fast-paced and gritty or have a mystical/ethereal vibe (bonus points if all of the above), and 9/10 don’t feature any lyrics (though they might have vocalizations–people “ahhhhh”-ing for parts of the song).

“Dragon Quest Composer Koichi Sugiyama Has Died”
I dunno how to feel about this. On the one hand, I just got into Dragon Quest and love the series so far, and Sugiyama was a big part of it. On the other hand, “asshole” doesn’t even describe him. And the DQ music was good, but not as good as say Final Fantasy’s (really enjoying the soundtrack for the FFVII remake). Kinda messed up that DQXI originally had to ship with the midi version because he didn’t want people to hear the orchestrated version. 🙄 WTF

Apparently, the Airbuster gets its own theme song, which is like a remixed version of the boss battle music.

Hell House – Final Fantasy VII Remake OST
Am I the only one who thinks this would’ve made great background music for an Olympic opening ceremony? 😬 They used the victory music for the 2020 one in Tokyo.
