Currently in open beta, zOMG introduces a new plot in the Gaia storyline, where a new threat called the Animated is invading the world of Gaia. Basically, inanimate objects like…lawn gnomes, taiko drums and purses come to life and start attacking people. The only way to fight back is to equip rings, which grants the wearer special powers and weapons. It’s very much a social game, where crewing up tends to grant the user more loot when fighting monsters (and some monsters can only be fought while crewing).
