I’ve only played the trial version, but it’s kind of interesting. You’re a pilot/mercenary-type of person from one of four races making a living in a distant galaxy. You can travel between star systems (via stargates), take jobs given to you by agents, etc. It’s all played on one server. You also create your own avatar, but other than customizing the facial features, they’re nothing more than a two-dimensional portrait (i.e. you never actually get out of your ship and do stuff).

In the 14 days I played it, I was confused, seriously confused when on the second mission, where I was asked to track down some pirates in near one of the asteroids in a star system named in the description, but the agent never did go into details about where exactly the pirates were (i.e. which asteroid field). X_x;; (I think I might want to play it again, maybe once I’m done with FFVII.)
