Pet drama is not over yet. :O

Over the past few weeks, we’ve had the carpet on our stairs replaced with hardwood. Zoey is used to galloping/hopping down the stairs (she’s not a tiny dog like a chihuahua, but she’s short enough to where she has to hop up and down the stairs). Since we’ve put the wood floors in place, she’s had a few incidents where she’s slipped and tumbled down the last few stairs, but looked perfectly ok after that.

This morning, she fell down as usual, but throughout the day, was not acting like herself. She’s not eating (even said no to a hot dog), doesn’t bark at anyone, except once at my dad’s friend when he came over to put the wood floors in (we are also getting the carpet in the upstairs hallway replaced with floor). She does get up occasionally to get water, so that’s good. But mainly spends the day laying on the floor.

At first, I thought that she fractured something, but my mom and dad don’t see her limping. My mom thinks she might have had hit her head and now has a killer headache. Or maybe she ruptured a kidney. *paranoid*

Uhh…well, as luck would have it, the vet (her regular vet, the one that was going to operate on Muffin’s tumor but decided not to) is closed, so my dad left a message on his answering machine.

She did get up and hurry upstairs like usual when I took the vacuum cleaner out of the closet (we think she had some kind of traumatic experience with vacuum cleaners at her previous home or something). Trying to get her to come back downstairs after putting the vacuum away…
