    Mocha and music

(There are mommy blogs. And there are guinea pig blogs. I think this is becoming a guinea pig blog.)

Incredibly strange question about guinea pigs and music

This reminds me…When Mocha was still in her small pet store cage, she liked to grab her veggie basket with her mouth and rap it against the side of the cage, to what I’m preeeetty sure was the tune of One Winged Angel (the first five or ten seconds of the Advent Children version) or at the very least, kept a steady beat. I DID brush it off as my imagination, since OWA was a song I listened to a lot, thinking that guinea pigs didn’t care about music. But the above link makes me think otherwise. 0.0

Of course, now that I think about it, being in a tiny cage for 5+ years, I’m pretty sure she was incredibly bored, having no room to run or stretch her legs. And was trying to relieve boredom by “playing” the song she keeps hearing a lot. O.O (She also did other things to relieve boredom, like…biting on the bars of her cage, biting the veggie basket without any musical intent, etc.)

Now that she’s in a much bigger cage (a little more than four times larger than her pet store cage) with a big eating area, four different ways to get hay and a tunnel-like structure made from cardboard boxes, she really doesn’t really do the One Winged Angel thing anymore. I am kinda sad. o.o

    In other news…

    Do your pigs watch television?

[...] Remember this? Yeah, Mocha’s musician status has been upgraded in Dreamland apparently when I put a toy keyboard in her cage. [...]
