One-Eye Girl

Family & Friends | June 5, 2009 · 5:13pm

So Muffin’s back from her surgery. Surgery, you say? Why yes, the one to remove her glaucomaized eye. She’s still groggy from the anesthesia and walks kind of wobbly (like she’s drunk, my mom says). So far she hasn’t said much ever since we picked her up.

Muffin

Muffin's face postsurgery(I could only get a blurry shot of her face, since she kept moving around. Then again, a more infocus shot might be a bit much for some people.) As for how it looks, uhhh…I won’t lie. It was kind of squicky when I first saw it. But it was mainly because I thought the stitches would blend in more (we’re supposed to take her back in 10-14 days for have them removed, so her eye actually won’t look like it’s sewn up).

In the meantime, I get the feeling that some of us are trying to come to terms with her new appearance (Mom and Dad seem to be okay with it, Ryan figured he would be freaked out by it, Lorin….ummm…, me…huge, brown stitches running all over her eye is still a bit jarring). Despite that, she’s still our playful little girl.

IS THIS WHAT LOVE IS ALL ABOUT?

(Uhhh…she’s camping out under my bed right now.)

  1. Awww, Muffin. I remember a cat down the street that had an eye sewn shut. Looked just like Muffin! You get used to it, I think.

  2. Yeah, I’m sue we’ll get used to it. ^^

Looking at it closer, I could see that most of the non-prettiness is the thread (which will be taken out soon), the baldness around her eye from the surgery (hair will grow back), and the pink splotch looks like blood stains from the surgery (which will go away). :D
