Fanlistings!

Once upon a time (more like…3 or 4 years ago…), I stumbled across this website called TheFanlistings.org. The idea seemed a little interesting, but I wasn’t too fond of the idea of having to maintain a website made just for a list of fans.

Uhh…well, for one reason or another, I caved in (I think it was because I liked the idea of having THE ONLY site for x listed on a popular site). I registered one for chameleons. And then just out of curiosity, I checked to see if there was one for one of my favorite books (The Icarus Hunt). Nope. So I thought ‘oh what the heck’ and registered that. The third one was when I decided I liked The American Girls Collection (books only) enough to dedicate a fanlisting for it. And ummm…yeah, the rest is history.

I managed to rack up a total of 8 (9 if you count one unlisted) FLs. I migrated from PHPFanBase to Enthusiast (since it was more suited for multiple FLs). The TFL board was the community I stalked regularly (mainly because of the Amusing Comments thread *^^*).

Months passed and I noticed I started to become more and more apathetic about them. I didn’t update them as much (and saw quite a few inactivity notices. Not wanting to have them removed, I tried to keep up with the two month rule, buuuuut it was a lot harder than I thought (since they were no longer a big part of my life).

So just recently, I announced in the board’s adoption centre that they needed new homes.

So far, I had one taker, Jenn was interested in the stuffed hippos one. It’s already up and I am now waiting for the staffers to process the update info form I just sent.

Aaaaaaand for those interested…the fanlistings!

(I’ll still be stalking the Amusing Comments threads, even if/when someone else takes my Noellium name. ^^;)

  1. Now that you mention it, I think I remember seeing you around the TFL boards. I used to be really active there in about 2004/2005, but definitely tapered off in 2006…

I had I think, 20 at my peak, but now own just 4. I’m tempted to adopt them out to save the hassle of a once-every-two-months update, but I still love the subjects though I don’t love the concept of fanlistings anymore…

  2. Yeah, I’m like that too. I still love all the subjects I own. I just don’t have the energy to run them…

(Although to be honest, I wouldn’t mind keeping one or two, just not 9. ^^;)

  3. I was more then willing to take over the Stuffed Hippo one for you. I love anything to do with hippos! :) Glad at least to help with one of them.

  4. Thank you for taking care of it and good luck. ^^

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
