For my birthday, I got a dancing monkey cellphone charm alert thing. It’s one of those things that light up when you get a call on your cellphone.
Last night or a couple nights ago, Ryan had a bunch of his friends over until around 2:45am. Right before they left, one of them wanted to talk to me about a game he’s creating, and came in my room to give me an idea of what I would do. While this was taking place, Ryan and his other friends came in (it was kind of dark in the entry, which is near where my room is). When we were done, they left, and right about then, my monkey charm started dancing around. My cellphone didn’t go off, so no one was calling me (I even checked my missed calls—nada). I asked the others if any of their cellphones went off. No one’s did.
I brushed it off until now…when it happened again at the same time. ::cue eerie music:: The only ones home are the five of us (siblings, parents and myself). Everyone else is upstairs, dead asleep, so I’m the only one downstairs, in my room. Once again, I didn’t get a call on my cell.
And to make things more interesting:
- The monkey doesn’t dance if an alarm on the phone goes off. I once tried triggering it by setting off an alarm and it didn’t work.
- It does dance if I turn off my cellphone, but it has to be pretty close to the monkey for that to happen as I found a little while ago after I turned off the phone (this was after the monkey started its little mystery dance).
There probably is a reasonable explanation for this. But until someone comes forward and explains it to me, I’ll let myself be spooked (or pretend to be spooked XD).
Wireless router at your place confusing it perhaps? I’m not sure how these things work though so I could be way off…
Hmmm…that’s a thought. The cellphone charm was right next to my laptop when it happened. (I’m not too familiar with how cellphone signals and those charms work either, so…)
