I was looking through LinkedIn for some old classmates from my previous community college (the one I transferred from before the CSU). One of the students from two of my senior arts classes (and one other class, all from the CSU) went to said community college apparently, around the same time I did. What’s more, he’s not just an alumni there; he’s a teacher there now.
I found him on Ratemyprofessor. There’s only one review for him so far, but as I read it, I thought ‘I was classmates with him! And I graduated with him!’
And suddenly, I felt oooold. (Not the gray hair type of old, more like the full-fledged adult type of old, I’d say 30ish or 40ish.)
It’s not just the fact that he’s a classmate who is now a teacher. One of my previous classmates from middle school I think is a high school substitute teacher (she once subbed for Lorin’s class). Also, one of the folks who (last time I checked) goes to the college-age group at my church is a teacher at the same community college (she was when I went there, and she is still now).
But I think it has to do with the fact that I now know/knew two teachers from that college as peers, rather than teachers. X_x
On a related note, I seem to be really interested in finding old classmates—not just ones from the community college or elementary school (grades 3-6)/middle school, but ones from my old elementary school, back when I lived in Culver City. I don’t remember anyone from first grade, but in second grade, I was in a Special Ed class (ADD, I think?) where there were about ten of us, so we were all pretty close. I suddenly got the urge to see if I could figure out where they out (ha, good luck with that, I don’t have a yearbook from the second grade to go by).
Aaaand speaking of which, I actually had a dream where I was reunited with an old classmate from the third grade. He and his family lived on our block (different street), but I was friends with his younger sister (which meant that our parents were friends as well). They moved away when I was in the uhhh…fourth grade? But we did get to see them a little while later, when we were invited to Classmate’s bar mitzvah, and that was last we ever saw of them. But in this dream, we were invited to another celebration held for Classmate. His sister was there, and she looked reeeeally different from what I remember her as (she looked more like one of the girls from my Capstone class O_o).
(There was also something about stormtroopers or battle droids crashing the party and some Jedi came to save us. XP I wound up crawling in a pile of rubble to hide, which turned out to be a fully functional bus in disguise.)

I recently found out a classmate I’ve known since grammar school is a teacher now. :o
I’ve got my second grade yearbook if you want to check it out. :3
O_O So they did give us yearbooks in the second grade. What does the cover look like? I wonder if we actually have it lying around somewhere…
But yeah, if it’s not too much trouble, I wouldn’t mind taking a look. ^^
