At this moment, I’m reading a forum topic on Gaia: “School Uniforms. warning wall of text.“, about yup, whether or not school uniforms are a good or bad thing.

I’m a bit undecided on school uniforms themselves, but what really got my goat was when several people said that students who wear jeans and t-shirts aren’t actually trying to express themselves—they’re only wearing them because they’re clothes.

Now wait just a minute. I run around in jeans and a t-shirt all the time mainly because I like how they look on me (there are other reasons like comfort and affordability). Especially since I wear large t-shirts when I could easily fit into small sizes.* I think what I wear says a lot about me. So yes, I do express myself through my clothes, even if I’m not trying to keep up with the latest trends. :yell:

*I used to wear smaller shirts when I was in middle school, but when I was given my P.E. clothes at my 7th grade orientation, the shirt went almost halfway down to my knees and the shorts completely covered my knees (it was the smallest size they had XD). I rolled up the shorts, but I liked the way the shirt looked. After that, the t-shirts I wore just increased in size until they were large-sized.
