Chibi NoelliumI used to draw a lot a few years ago, but I became less and less interested as I couldn’t think of very many stuff to draw. When it comes to art, one artist I’m really inspired by is Keiiii. Unfortunately, I have a long way to go before I reach her level (not only in terms of technique, but also in subject matter*).

*And while I could do a decent job on human bodies, I tend to do a not-so decent job on interesting poses. Or faces not in the three-quarter view thing. I need lots of practice. ToT

I drew the original sketch in my sketchbook on Sunday, during a church service (I’d say it took around 45 minutes)* in graphite. When I got home, I inked it, erased the graphite lines and scanned it.

*For those of you who are raising an eyebrow of me doing something other than listening during a church service, I was paying attention. I’m able to do something like drawing while listening to the person talk…and absorb it, enough to take notes. The senior pastor once told some of us from the congregation that he once spotted someone playing a handheld game console while he was talking. He thought that was amusing. ^_^;

Comments are welcome. ^_^

[Edit: 11:42 PST] I forgot to mention that I’ll appreciate any helpful advice/criticism given, but I won’t be modifying or changing the artwork. When I think it’s done, it’s done. And I like to use it to keep track of how my art has progressed over time. But I’ll use any advice for future artworks. :3

  1. It’s so cuuuute!! :D!!

    I saw the hand as a fist-and-thumb, not finger and two random lines. :3 Maybe you can rotate the fist a bit if that would help though…?

  2. Thanks! :D

    Okay, I see what you mean. When I look at it, I see it as an arm pointing straight up with a fist propped on it (vertically), which would be physically impossible when you look at how an arm/wrist really is attached to a fist. Thanks much! ^_^
