A Restricted Call?

Computers & Gadgets | June 5, 2008 · 11:53am

Just a little while ago, someone called my cellphone. But instead of showing the number, it said “Restricted”.

I did pick it up, but I didn’t say anything. The guy at the other end (who seemed to be talking to someone else) didn’t sound familiar. After all, it just ended.

Ummm…so, what’s this restricted thing? And why was this person’s number restricted?

  1. Who’s your carrier/provider company? I use AT&T and I get “Withheld” numbers for AJ and UG and for home, ’cause they turned off Caller ID for their numbers, through their phone service.

Or maybe you got a misdialed number because someone sat on their phone and it was from someone within the CIA! :O

  2. We have Verizon. I guess that could be it (the caller id thing).

And that moment of silence must’ve spooked them. Or made them suspicious. :O

  3. That’s probably what it is. Anyone can request that their number not come through on Caller ID. As for not saying anything, he probably didn’t notice that you picked up, since he was talking to someone else at the time.

  4. I see…okay, thanks!
