(Yes, long title. I’m kind of wondering how this theme would handle long titles. :3)

Just a while ago, my mom got a call from her boss (she’s the financial advisor at our church), who informed her that there was a fire in the men’s restroom. :O It was on one of the toilets. The toilet itself wasn’t on fire. The restroom has a sensor for the lights, for paraplegic folks. I’m a bit fuzzy on the details (this what I get for not writing everything down right away), but she said the sensor melted a plastic part, which fell on the toilet.

Ryan (brother) was kind of disappointed when he heard it wasn’t the toilet that was on fire, since he was thinking someone had taken an extremely hazardous dump, that went up in flames. :P

Mom’s boss found out about it when he smelled smoke, and found it coming from the restroom. He was able to put it out with a fire extinguisher and called 911. They chopped a hole in the ceiling (but not in the roof; the hole leads to the attic), and told Mom’s boss that he needed to fan the place out, because of the smoke damage. Also someone needs to stay and make sure things don’t become screwed up, so he asked if my dad could take a shift from 11 to 6.

As for what I mean by the title, last time we got a call from my mom’s boss was when he said that someone from our church was involved in a sexual harassment case that took place right at my school. :O (As it turns out, I had gotten an e-mail from the school about an hour or two before that, mentioning the incident, but they didn’t know the guy’s name. So when my mom said that she had to leave to go to church, because of the above mentioned incident, my first reaction was “I got an e-mail about that!”)

Heh, for some reason, the whole fire incident made me think of this one time in summer ‘05, when the women’s restroom was leaking water. As in, water was coming out from under the walls and getting all over the carpet. And the next summer, we had a power outage (the entire block had lost power, and my mom later found out that some workers working on power lines had cut the wrong line). (Both of these incidents happened during the day, during our Summer Spectacular event for the Children’s Ministry.) Interesting times. :P
