I’ve been thinking…I might get Flash once I have the money. I don’t plan on building entire sites with it or plan on doing animated movies with it (like this!*—features violence, such as…the brutalizing of stick figures. Or this!).
*Legend of Zelda gamers: the part where the stick figure enters the building and approaches the crack in the wall…does the background music sound familiar to you?
At the moment, I think I might just start with creating small applications with it. I won’t go into details, but jumping from HTML-driven sites to Flash-driven sites was really different (certain components will only load certain types of content, so building a Flash site is quite different from an HTML site). Most of my other classmates in that class in Spring ‘07 I think had taken the beginning Multimedia class as a prerequisite, rather than Web Design, so they were more acquainted with the software and working with it in general (and they made such nice, juicy sites ;o;). I wasn’t really fond of my final project (which was to build a portfolio site), but I do remember that I spent a heck of a lot of time on that media player (which was mainly powered by ActionScript).
Maybe once I become more comfortable with it, I might become interested in building web sites with it.
