It’s about 90°F outside (or it feels like it) and both doors in the cafeteria are wide open. A poor little bird managed to fly in and is confused on how to get out. No one’s doing anything about it, I guess because no one knows how to tell it “Go through the door.” T_T

There’s no real point for this entry, other than for me to write down some amusing stuff from both my Spanish classes,* so I don’t forget them (similar to what Michelle did for her Bits and Pieces post).

*I took 101 in Fall ’06, but got a C-. It’s still a passing grade, but not good enough for me to graduate. So I took it again next fall and got a B. :3

Our Teacher is Not a Ghost

In the Fall ’07 one, we had to get into groups and come up with sentences we think are true about the teacher. For every right question, we got one point. One group came up with theirs: “No es una fantasma.” (“She’s not a ghost.“) The teacher asked us, “Am I a ghost?” When no one replied, she said “No, I’m not a ghost!” :P

As for our group, one of the sentences I thought of saying was “Nunca sale en la casa por la noche.” (“She never leaves the house at night.“) Except when we read it in front of the class, I forgot the “por la noche” bit, so it was just “She never leaves the house.” >8D Everyone got a good laugh.

She is…

In the ’06 class, we were practicing present progressive verbs. We did this activity where we imagined a woman sitting outside the room, and we were supposed to come up with what she was doing. We had to start our sentences off with “Ella está…” (“She is…“).

Some of the ones people came up with were:

  • Ella está esperando. (“She’s waiting.“)
  • Ella está estudiando. (“She’s studying.“)
  • Ella está leyendo. (“She’s reading.“)
  • Ella está llorando. (“She’s crying.“)
  • Ella está moriendo. (“She’s dying.“)
  • Ella está acampando. (“She’s camping.“)
  • Ella está jugando. (“She’s playing.“—mine :3 And what was she playing? Videojuegos/video games, obviously :P )
  • Ella está dormiendo. (“She’s sleeping.“)

There was also one other one, where someone said she was “stalking”. :O (But I forgot how you say “to stalk”. X_x)
